About our Logo: Everything for a Reason

Our logo includes a lot of symbolism. From the colors to the name to the design, everything is there for a reason. And NO! It’s not just because we think it looks really cool.

Let’s start with the color scheme…we love Texas, and we love our Spurs! When we’d first moved to Texas, San Antonio was our home. The city that stoles our hearts, and dare we say it…made us Texans (is that allowed?). The really fun part about the Spurs colors is that we used nearly the exact same colors in our previous business, long before living in Texas and knowing and loving the Spurs. So while our colors looks similar to the classic Spurs, they are in fact our colors that we’ve carried with us for years—they’re bright and cheerful, and really give us an overall feeling of optimism. For us, it felt like it was meant to be when it came time to decide on The Bully Sanctuary colors and logo, and helped us tie in our past and present, while also giving a nod to Texas.

With a mission so deeply rooted in paying respects to our military service members and families, we really wanted to incorporate something that would convey its essence. That’s where the chevron comes in. While it may not be instantly recognizable as military symbolism, it is indeed an homage to our armed forces. Throughout our history, our military has used many iterations of stripes and chevrons. This is our version. We’ve also added in the military-type font. It’s really important us to show our support in a very public way.

As for the paw print, that’s something that we’ve handcrafted, using our Lucy as a paw model. We did a test a while back that determines a dog’s personality based on their paw shape. Lucy is a Cloud (so is Bert!). She’s sweet and playful, and evokes a smile in everyone that meets her. We hope that’s what our logo does, too.
