Billie Jean

Billie was rescued alongside Babe and dozens of other dogs out of Houston, TX in 2023, but quickly abandoned at a boarding facility with the same group. She came to the sanctuary as a 2-3 year old in February 2024, after a several month long search to find her forever home. She is an American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier mix.

She is truly the most petite, sweet little daddy’s girl you could ever meet! With a heart full of curiosity, but also a hint of shyness, she delights in slowly warming up to both people and other dogs alike. It’s abundantly clear that Billie has faced some trauma in her life, yet she remains a brave little trooper who is determined to overcome every obstacle that stands in her way. Her intelligence shines through as she picks up new tricks with incredible speed, and she has a joyful spirit that means she never wants to miss out on any fun during playtime. This girl manages to do more zoomies than any other dog you might ever encounter! When you let her off her leash, she loves to show off her big, bright smile and zooms around in sheer delight. Since joining our pack, she has courageously undergone treatment for a severe MRSA infection, which unfortunately included two surgeries resulting in the amputation of one toe and several months of careful medication, all due to the neglect she experienced while in boarding prior to coming into our care.
