Rosie

Meet Rosie, our beautiful, spirited girl who was rescued at just 3 years old from the brink of euthanasia at the Concho Valley PAWS shelter in San Angelo, TX in February 2024. Rosie is a gorgeous mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, and Australian Cattle Dog. Her journey from a stray with new puppies to the sanctuary has been nothing short of miraculous.

Rosie is a ray of sunshine with the most captivating smile, brightening up our lives every single day. When she was found, she had endured the tough life of a stray and spent almost a year in the shelter. But the moment we saw her, we knew she was meant to be part of our pack. Bringing her home revealed some shocking discoveries—she had old wounds from buckshot lodged in her chest, bed sores, malnourishment, and and everything else you’d typically find from a dog living in a shelter for as long as she had. Despite all of that, Rosie remains undeterred, living her life to the fullest and spreading joy wherever she goes.

Her playful spirit is infectious. Rosie absolutely adores playing with toys, especially when she can run and fetch outside. She’s got a bossy streak with other dogs but in the most endearing, “cool mom” kind of way. Initially timid and scared, Rosie transformed almost overnight into a lively, happy little go-getter. Her intelligence shines through in all the tricks she knows, making her not just a survivor but a true star.

We are currently accepting applications for Rosie’s adoption.
